Franklin Templeton Just Filed for a Spot Solana ETF – This Is Massive for SOL Memecoins

Another traditional finance giant just went all-in on Solana.

Franklin Templeton – yes, the same firm managing $1.66 trillion – officially filed Form 8-A with the SEC to register its Franklin Solana ETF for listing on NYSE Arca.

If you've been around the ETF game for the last two years, you already know what this means: this filing almost always drops right before trading begins, often the very next day.

We're talking about the same final step we saw with Bitcoin ETFs, Ethereum ETFs, and even Franklin's own XRP ETF that launched just days ago.

This isn't some random S-1 filing from nine months ago. This is the "we're ready to go live" paperwork.

Why this matters for Solana memes

Solana is the meme coin chain. Full stop.

Every time SOL gets real institutional validation, the entire ecosystem lights up:

  • More capital flowing into SOL → higher price floor
  • Higher SOL price → more liquidity for meme launches
  • TradFi money discovering Solana → retail FOMO → meme supersycle

We've literally watched this movie before. When spot Bitcoin ETFs launched, the whole market ripped. When Ethereum ETFs went live, altcoins followed. Now Solana is getting the same treatment from one of the most respected names in asset management.

Just yesterday (Nov 24), existing Solana ETFs pulled in another $57M in inflows – led by Bitwise's BSOL with $39.5M in a single day.

Add Franklin Templeton's version to the mix and we're looking at a completely different ballgame.

The degen takeaway

If you're holding BONK, WIF, POPCAT, michi, GME, or any of the other top Solana memes right now… this is the kind of catalyst that turns good meta into legendary meta.

Franklin Templeton isn't some crypto-native shop. This is Benjamin Franklin's firm (literally) saying Solana is one of the few blockchains worthy of a spot ETF alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum.

That kind of institutional stamp of approval does things to price action that technical analysis can't even dream of explaining.

Buckle up. The Solana meme season we thought was cooking might have just gotten thrown directly into the furnace.
