A single trader (wallet 0x9f59…) just turned roughly $234K (buy + gas) into $860K in under 15 minutes by sniping the launch of $JESSE — a brand-new meme token on Base that plays off the name of Jesse Pollak, the creator of the Base network itself.

According to Lookonchain, the trader:

• Spent 67 ETH (~$190K) swapping for 76.15 billion $JESSE
• Paid an eye-watering 15.54 ETH (~$44K) in priority/gas fees to make sure the buy went through first
• Immediately split the bag across several wallets/transactions and sold the entire position for 303.53 ETH (~$860K)

Net result → 221 ETH profit ($626K)​ in basically the time it takes to make a cup of coffee.

This is textbook meme-coin launch sniping on Base:

1. Monitor brand-new pairs the second liquidity is added
2. Blast an absurd gas/priority fee to jump the mempool queue
3. Buy an enormous percentage of the supply while liquidity is still tiny and price impact is low
4. Sell into the retail FOMO that usually follows a “Jesse Pollak token” narrative

The $44K gas fee looks insane to normies, but when the expected profit is over half a million dollars, it’s just the cost of doing business for top-tier snipers.

$JESSE is a pure community-takeover-style meme token with no utility other than the joke itself — capitalizing on Jesse Pollak’s meme status in the Base ecosystem (he’s the guy who built and leads Coinbase’s L2 that’s been printing meme coin millionaires all year).

Whether Jesse himself finds it funny or not, the chain doesn’t care — it just executes the trades.

These plays are extremely high risk. Most snipers lose the gas war or buy into rugs/jeets and get rekt. When the stars align, though, the returns are life-changing in minutes.
